Sadly Disappointed with the care by Booking.com and Sandlas Royal Caribbean

I booked my birthday celebration 3 day stay using Booking.com. I placed in the notes of the booking that I only want for the 3 nights “Crystal Lagoon Hideaway Swim-up Club LevelJr. Suite w/Patio Tranquility Soaking Tub” Booking.com incorrectly booked The second floor of this building with out the swim-up feature. This could had been resolved quickly as when I called the Resort directly the swim-up feature was available, I spent every day for 2 1/2 weeks calling and emailing I have three records at your request 1 called once for 1 hour and 30 minutes. This was unacceptable, I had to move from my requested room on the 3rd morning, that is the morning after my birthday so no celebrating as we knew we had to wake early to move to another room. I was charged an additional upgrade for a room on stay of the 3rd night of $291.00 that needs to be reimbursed as that room while the bell man was checkin us in the room the electrical went out in the entire building and was out the whole time, the staff moved everyone but us by 8:00 pm that evening we had no phone or WIFi to contact the staff we visited 4 times to the concierge to try and correct this problem. So we spent birthday celebration time in plans to move from the room and all day the next day with no electricity and in the heat and moved alone on the dark late the 3rd night to another room so we moved rooms 3 times in a 3 day stay. This was unacceptable, we deserve future credit of a complimentary stay in the future, I would like to visit Sandals Saint Luca for this as I have no plans of ever returning to Sandals Royal Caribbean, this could had been easily rectified in the beginning and no need for my calls and emails of 2 1/2 weeks. Sadly disappointed in Booking.com and Sandals care of handling this easily corrected booking.

The facility was amazing! The food was really good especially for an all-inclusive. The staff were all super friendly and glad to help and make stay better!:)

El personal muy amable, siempre con una sonrisa y la comida de los restaurants gourmet muy rica y bien presentada. El cuarto moderno, cómodo y amplio.

El wifi era muy lento. En la TV no se podía ver Netflix. Tuvimos un día de pura lluvia y no había nada q hacer indoors. Pedimos que nos ayuden con el Netflix para ver una película y nos dijeron que no se podía. No habían muchas actividades en el día. Los espacios comunes eran muy reducidos y antiguos (contrarios a la habitación). La playa chiquita y sin mucha arena. Los tragos muy básicos y el desayuno buffet y almuerzo buffet sin mucha variedad y no muy rico (contrario a los restaurants de especialidades que sólo atienden por la noche). En la playa nadie te atendía para servirte los tragos. El tiempo de atención del almuerzo buffet muy corto. Sólo hasta las 2:30pm. Los baños del Lobby estaban malogrados. Sólo funcionaba 1 baño de los 3 que habían. En la noche los shows eran muy simples, sólo bailaban. Visitamos el Sandals Montego Bay y nos gustó más. Mucho más amplio y con más personal. Más actividades durante el día.

Relaxing vacation but very expensive for no activity to be done on resort.

The rooms were clean. Property was well kept.

I didn’t like that they were no activities on the resort that were listed on the website l. It was nothing to do.

Nice time to get away and relax.

Pools and facilities were very nice. Many of the staff greeted us with pleasant smiles and "good morning!". Liked that they had free transfer to the other Sandals resort at Montego Bay as well as airport pickup/drop off.

The beach was smaller than I had thought it would be. The beach over on the private island was almost non-existent as compared to the photos. I assume that rising water levels are to blame. I was there for my birthday and received nothing "extra" in our room.

how friendly all the staff was

our air conditioner was not working correctly. we could not get it any cooler that 76 degrees when we were getting ready for dinner we were looting in sweat. we told both of our butlers and the has someone come look at it. we never heard anything so we asked again. They finally offered to move us to a different room on our last night. We did not want to move all our stuff for 1 night so they brought us a fan. We paid almost $900 per night for this room. The French restaurant was delicious! And I really enjoyed breakfast at Spices. I really liked the size of the resort and the low keyed atmosphere. Scuba diving was awesome! Dwayne is a fun instructor to dive with.

Great service & good drinks, but we would have liked access to a more authentic Jamaica.

The staff were absolutely incredible at this resort. We particularly enjoyed the club level concierge ladies, the housekeeping staff who always greeted us with smiles and "no problem"s when we needed "just 5 more minutes" in the room, the water sports team, and Travis (creator of the off menu signature <delicious> drink, "The Travistine") at the beach bar. At the other property (Sandals Montego Bay), Kenroy who worked the over the water Latitude bar was really wonderful to speak to and made excellent cocktails. Speaking of Latitude: it was the BEST. I could have stayed there all day and night. We spent a lot of time there, rain or shine, day or night. Highly recommend. I'm not usually a breakfast buffet person, but the views from the main restaurant at Royal Caribbean were stellar. The bacon and coffee were always good, and they will make you an omlette or pretty much whatever you want, so we ate there almost every day. We also really loved The Jerk Shack's food. The location on the private island was really great! Additionally, the rooms were very clean and comfortable-- exactly as pictured.

The food was overall, good, but not out of this world (even the nicer restaurants). I would have liked to have had some more authentic cuisine available. Unfortunately, during the time of our stay, the weather didn't really cooperate so there were a lot of things that we did not get to do. It was not easily accessible to leave the resort and go on excursions that weren't $75+ per person, and we didn't want to pay for something we were unable to enjoy or experience fully because of weather. Of course the resort can't control the weather, but I really wish there were more opportunities to explore the essence of the island without paying an arm and a leg. Things like local (authentic) reggae shows, more craftsman booths (they did have some on site), local food vendors, and some inexpensive hiking/adventure trips would have been nice. Additionally, the beaches at the Montego Bay resort were nicer than the ones at Royal Caribbean (i.e. it was more of an actual beach). The water was pretty at Royal Caribbean, but it was in a bay so there was a lot of grass beyond the roped off areas and the "beaches" were really small.

Mediocre, something is missing, can't put my finger on it. Not worth the money.

The staff are all amazing, the manager should be commended.

Location is too noisy with airport noise, did not know this before. Entertainment not great. I found the RIU was better in 2007. A little upgrade would be nice in the Royal Carribean, the Montego bay is awesome....Would I come back, probably not...

Relaxing

The staff made the experience! The restaurant situation was a little misleading on website...didn’t realize we had to go to the other sandals for several of the restaurants. Also, we booked beachfront luxe room and were in Sandringham and were on the 2nd floor. Next time will book in rooms 7100. I like the visible security walking around the property.

Near our hotel room was noisy...backpack blowers, construction going on-digging up concrete and staff yelling back and forth at 6-7am. The guys on the canoes harassed hotel guests which is annoying but we understand out of hotel control.

Definitely will be going back here at some point.

All staff very polite and professional. The Scuba instructors were great. Certainly a great place to learn to scuba.

Noise from planes was a little annoying, but transfer to resort only takes a few minutes.

Love the friendly and helpful staff.

Love the friendly and helpful staff. Gorgeous beach. Great facilities. Restocked mini bar in the room. Overall it was AMAZING!

House keeping was always late evening so if we went out to the beach and wanted to rest in the evening, we would be in the way of housekeeping when we returned . We stayed for 6 days and the shampoo/cream/conditioner etc. was never replenished. Not a must have but would have been nice.
